About Luis

Hi, my name is Luis Lopez. I am passionate about helping people heal so that they can flourish in life. Although I am trained to address a variety of psychological issues ranging from anxiety and OCD to grief and depression, I specialize in addiction, trauma, and relationship issues.

In today's society, the possibility to get addicted has never been so easy — whether it be pornography, gambling, and video games, or alcohol, sex, and overworking. I have found tremendous meaning in helping people break free from whatever is keeping them feeling trapped, disconnected, and ashamed.

Addicts have often neglected their interior world and body's signals, so helping them get in touch with what's inside is beautiful — it's like witnessing a baby walk for the first time. Before you know it, that child is running, jumping, and playing freely — that's how I want you to live. In just a few sessions, you will already learn how to start relating to yourself in this new way, so that you too can be free to run, play, and flourish in life. In overcoming your addiction, you will have greater mental space and energy to pursue what matters most to you — your dreams, your relationships, your life.

Relationships are the foundation of a meaningful life: they shape everything, including our sense of self, our happiness, and our peace. Unfortunately, many people struggle relationally — and the challenge often isn't just with others, it's within themselves. Most people exhaust so much mental energy fighting the thoughts, feelings, and sensations that come from within that they have little genuine space left for real connection, with themselves or others. As an Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed therapist, I help you understand and befriend these inner parts, creating the space needed for deeper connection with yourself and the people you love.

This internal struggle is often rooted in trauma — which is why relational and trauma work are so closely linked. Trauma doesn't always look dramatic. Sometimes it just feels like life is "blah" — not like something is totally wrong, just a little empty, irritable, and joyless. That's trauma too. Often grounded in early childhood wounds and other relational experiences, I help you look at these pivotal moments with new eyes, witness the pain you never had space to feel, and move forward with a weight off your back.

If you're ready to break free from what's keeping you stuck and start building a life of real connection and flourishing, I'd love to help.
